"Outliers - The Story of Success" by Malcolm Gladwell is an informational book that helps uncover and explain the myth of genius and success as something that people just have as opposed to work for. I especially enjoyed the emphasis Gladwell placed on the opportunities that arise for circumstance and those around you as deeply influential to an individual's success. Too often we don't acknowledge the assistance and opportunities that come along the way, nor the importance of taking advantage of these moments while having the drive to work for it. Mezcal Bloody Mary

Any regular drink would suffice for such a mentally provoking read. But, Josue Romero takes the Bloody Mary to the next level on Instagram under @the_garnishguy. His drink demonstrates the very essence of "Outliers" because it is the most wonderful combination of special ingredients, hard work, and tenacity to make one of the most beautiful Bloody Mary I have ever seen. Clearly this is a cocktail talent that has taken practice and thought over time. Shoot, he made this beauty on his day off… while doing laundry. That is dedication. Oh, did I mention that even the butterflies are edible? Throw a book in the mix and I might just join in.
You would have to get in contact with Mr. Romero for his exact recipe (if he was willing to share) but, this libation includes:
- Montelobos Mezcal
- Slow roasting tomatoes, garlic, jalapeños, green peppers, red peppers, a white onion mixed with oregano, cumin, dill, and harissa blended with horseradish.
- 2 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce
- ¼ oz. of lemon juice
